Lakkatura Tea Garden is situated near Osmani Airport in Chaukidhenki Upazila of Sylhet district. Green Banani is surrounded by the northern side of Sylhet city, the Lakkatura Tea Garden.

It is an official tea garden under the National Tea Board. Its position across 1293 hectares or about 3200 acres. From the Amberkhana point of Sylhet, 1.5km forward towards the airport, you will see Lakshatura Tea Garden signboard. About 500,000 kg of tea is produced annually from one of the largest tea gardens of Bangladesh.

Although there are tea gardens in Lakkatura, two outposts of Dalhali and Kwachharan have been built in the rubber garden. After moving the factory, you can see that there is a high-level crossing on top of the hill.

These are the garden manager and assistant manager's bungalow. If you want to go to the factory and the bungalow, you will have to get permission from the authorities. And if you want to just walk in the garden, you can go inside the main gate asking the guard to go inside.

Located next to Lakkatura Tea Garden, Bangladesh is the largest and the first tea garden in the subcontinent, the Malianichara tea garden.

How to go

It will take 10 minutes to visit Lakkatura tea garden from Amberkhana point of Sylhet. In the public CNG, rent will be Tk 5-10, and 15-20 rupees in rickshaw.


Where to stay

There is a nice guest house inside the Lakkatura tea garden. As a human being, this night in the guesthouse is very much like the adventurous. There are three rooms, kitchens and guestrooms here. An ideal place for Barbecue and Campfire.

Those who want to stay here, need to get the National Tea Board's head office in Dhaka before getting permission.

There are also many hotels to stay in Sylhet, you can find any kind of hotel according to your needs and capabilities. Some known hotels are - Hotel Hill Town, Gulshan, Darga Gate, Surma, Kaikobad etc.

There are many standard rest houses in low rent in the Lala Bazar area. Hotel Anurag - Single room for 400 rupees (two can easily stay), room for 500 rooms (Normal can accommodate 4). Where to eat

There are three very good eating hotels in Sylhet Zindabazar for eating. Hotels are Pach Vai, Panshi and Palki. There are about 29 types of bhorta in them.
